Dr. Tara Grinnage-Pulley is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and Fellow at the University of Iowa College of Public Heath in the Epidemiology Department. Her mentor is Dr. Christine Petersen.
- She received her Bachelors of Science in Animal and Poultry Science at Tuskegee University, in 2005. In May of 2009, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. She received her Ph.D in Veterinary Microbiology at Iowa State in 2013.
- Dr. Grinnage-Pulley is currently a member of professional groups including:
- American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
- American Committee of Molecular, Cellular, and Immunoparasitology.
- University of Iowa Center for Immunology.
- She is currently an adjunct lecturer at the University of Iowa College of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology.
- Her research interests have included:
- Microbial pathogenesis and the immunologic response to infectious diseases, particularly to zoonotic and foodborne disease.
- Campylobacter jejuni in antimicrobial resistance and pathogenesis.
- Leishmania major and L. infantum infection models.
- Roles of Leishmania antigens in modulating infection.
